 The Department of Taiwanese Literature is a newly risen ground in the academic field. It serves as the guardian of indigenous literature in Taiwan and an important base of the study of Taiwanese literature in central Taiwan. The Department of Law places its emphasis on strengthening students' ability in legal practices and cultivating excellent legal experts. Given the demand to cope with changes in a globalized world, the Department of Law is seeking to incorporate financial law and social law as research focuses in order to cultivate specialists with international vision and financial expertise. In recent years, ecological disasters have emerged all over the world. Environmental issues have been deemed not only a political agenda but also an inevitable problem. As Taiwan continues to advance and grow into a developed country, it turns into an indispensable duty to embark on ecological research and studies. The Department of Ecology is accordingly envisioned to produce significant influence on Taiwan's ecological conservation. The Department of Youth and Child Welfare will intensify the cooperation with local governments to cultivate managerial professionals in this field. The Department of Mass Communication aims to develop talented students to be professional journalists, communication practitioners and scholars. The objectives of the Graduate Institute of Education is to educate outstanding students in education and research so that they can contribute their knowledge and experience to society. The Center of Teacher Education is responsible for assigning students to schools for internships. Students generally apply and do their internships within four years after they graduate.

 Based on the research capability of the Department of Chinese Literature and the emerging Department of Taiwanese Literature, the College will continue to promote teaching and research on native literature and folklore culture. The Department of Law, the Department of Ecology and other future departments will help the College of Humanities and Social Sciences to reach its full potential as a pluralistic community..
